The club
We started as the Melbourne German Gymnastic Club, one of the first clubs in Melbourne, and joined with Club Tivoli in 1921. Since 1989 our home has been 291 Dandenong Road.
Our members keep German song, dance and language alive, and everybody is welcome to join in.

Don't let the exterior fool you, this place is a hidden gem! The easy on-site parking was a great start, but the food is the real highlight. The pork knuckle was absolutely spectacular, and our family also loved the sausages and Wiener schnitzel. Add in great tap beer and genuinely friendly staff, and it felt just like the beer halls we visited in Germany. We're so glad we found this place and will definitely be back!

Atmosphere was awesome, entertaining & humorous. Food was spectacular, very tasty especially the chicken schnitzel. Prices are exceptional & excellent value for money. Definitely recommend & will return. We had a group of 8, & all had a fantastic experience. Highly recommended 👍😁

can be a little intimidating figuring out your way in.
Sign the guest book out the front so they can comply with their liquor licence, head on up the stairs and to the left. Then it starts to look like a normal restaurant. High chairs and kids cutlery available. Often an accordion playing on Friday and Saturday evenings.
